Welcome to the King Township Food Bank
Our Policies
The King Township Food Bank is for the exclusive use of residents of King Township. There are four Distribution Centres.
A family unit comprises all those residing at the same address, including live-in members who are not related.
Each family unit must be registered at a Distribution Centre in order to receive food. Transfers are possible, but only the registered Centre will release food to a family. A registration form must be completed and we request an annual update. Registrants will need to provide proof of address. All the users of the Food Bank within the family unit must be listed on the registration form.
Effective November, 2011, Distribution Day is the THIRD Saturday of every month. From 9a.m.-11a.m. the four centres are open to hand out boxes of food and grocery cards to registered users.
Grocery vouchers are available only on Distribution Day, when food hampers are picked up. The purpose of these vouchers is to purchase perishable foods, such as dairy products, eggs and meat. This is to compensate for the fact that we cannot offer these items in the monthly hampers.
We request that you call the central number to advise if you no longer need the Food Bank, or if you will be temporarily suspending usage for any reason. It helps our volunteers.
Questions? Call the dedicated Food Bank line (905) 806-1125 and leave a number where you can be reached. Please indicate if you are a user or potential user; we will return your call promptly, usually within 12 hours.
