Sunday September 16th, the Annual Sacred Heart Golf Tournament is being held at Carrying Place Golf & Country Club. King Township Food Bank is the named recipient this year, and is grateful to receive the proceeds of this wonderful third party event. When others raise money for the Food Bank, it eases the load for this totally volunteer organization. Click here for details and a registration form.

Sip & Savour Ciao Roma is in full gear; tickets are available on line now at the early bird price of $40. Plan for an evening of pleasure as you enjoy the streets of Rome on October 25th. The Annual Sponsorship campaign continues, with Fines Ford Lincoln (Bolton), Sinopoli Trucking and Green Tractors Nobleton most recently pledging support. All Saints Anglican Church in King City is a Platinum sponsor, and King City Firefighters Association is moving into the Diamond level with another cheque for $1000. Shoppers at Foodland continue to donate grocery cards; cheques have come in from the Spring No Frills shopper campaigns; Tim Horton King City again has named the Food Bank for its Smile Cookie campaign. Donors send cheques at all times of the year, knowing that ‘hunger doesn’t take a holiday’–a time-worn truism.

Words can’t express the gratitude extended to all those who recognize and support the work of the Food Bank and its mandate of a week of groceries or cards which in turn mandates a fundraising budget of $80,000.

This Saturday, August 18th, the three Distribution Centres are open from 9-11 am to receive those registered with the Food Bank. If you need help, please call ahead 905-806-1125 or ktfoodbank@gmail.com so food can be shipped to the appropriate centre in the right quantity for you.

Following Distribution, there will be a pop up Clothing Giveaway from noon – 2 pm, available to those beyond the actual registrants of the Food Bank. Often ‘alumni’ come, as moving to fiscal sustainability is not an overnight process just because a family ‘graduates’ from need Food Bank help. Call the Food Bank line for details.

The next Distribution Day is Saturday SEPTEMBER 15TH…early in the month, as Sept 1 is a Saturday. Christmas in King registration forms will be filled out at that time.
